ACCA will be holding the 2011 ACCA Annual Conference on 26 May 2011. The theme is ‘Accountants for Business: Going Regional - Challenges & Opportunities for the Accounting Profession’
The demand for accounting and finance professionals with specialised skills and mastery of regional businesses practices and technical standards is rising locally and across the region. Local professionals are therefore being encouraged to go regional. On the flip side, foreign professionals are being encouraged to come to Singapore to work and study. The government has already accepted recommendations to liberalise the ownership of public accounting firms, introduce various tax incentives and develop Centres of Excellence and a vibrant research community to draw in accounting professionals from all over the world. How will these developments impact you as an accounting and finance professional?
